I know this seems like expensive money Mr Merchant, but if I promised to buy $13,500 worth of pizzas from you over the next 6 months - that would be a good thing right? Now if I was going to pay for all of those pizzas right now - in cash - would you take $10,000 for those pizzas? Of course you would.

Works like a charm.
That's a good one!

Most business owners know at least a little about the "time value of money" and that example fits the bill perfectly.

I used to be in real estate where "hard money loans" that were quick but pricey were seemingly unattractive, until you mention that hey, what does it matter if I'm paying 18% if I'm buying a property at a 50% discount. I'd rather pay the high cost and not lose the deal. Merchants I assume also have opportunities to buy equipment or inventory at drastically reduced prices... but they must act fast or someone else will get the bargain and they'll miss out because they didn't have the available cash.

Cool pizza post

I use a similar rebuttal:
Mr. Jones if you owned a pizza shop and were able to buy $10000 worth of dough, sauce and cheese today and run a special promotion over the next 30 days offering 2 for 1 pizzas, how much would you turn that $10000 into?.......Probably 20-25k correct? So paying back $13500 on the 10k and having that $3500 spread over 8 months does not seem so bad now correct? Think of how many times you can roll thise funds over and over! Exactly, now which option would you like to proceed with?

Works like a charm!

Exactly,

Most restaurants can also negotiate their pricing from wholesalers if they buy in bulk. We work with a seafood buffet that used his $80k advance to buy enough seafood at once to almost double his profit margin.

Another one...

"I don't need any money"

Great, most of the business owners we work with don't need money. We like to work with those that know how to make money with money. If we advanced you $___________ to spend on the business, do you think it would help you become more profitable?

First - no one wants to admit they need money - and they also won't say "NO" when you ask them if they can make more money with more money.

Default Help!!! I'm an easy sell!!!!

Good afternoon! My name is Alexandria "Alix" Myers and I am in need of a MCA ASAP! My problem with making this work is that I am on the lovely island of St. Croix. We are in the US Virgin Islands, yet, we are a bastard-child of the USA. Our banks are FDIC, the whole she-bang, but, I am unable to get a Merchant Cash Advance.

Here is the scoop:

My bank account for my business is located in St. Croix

My Merchant account through Electronic Merchant Systems is in Independence, OH! So, my credit cards are processed state-side.

I need a minimum of $20,000. My CC sales average from $12,000/month to $19,000/month.

Ideas?

Please email me instead of responding here, as I check my email many, many times a day.

I really appreciate your help. I spoke with Merchant Capital Source and they thought it might be possible to do this, being that my merchant account is in the states, but, I haven't heard back.

Please Advise!

Big Hugs~

Alix Myers
